Holy Land

THE LAND OF ALL RELIGIONS

About

ABOUT HOLYLAND

The Holy Land has been the focus of travel and pilgrimage for centuries and continues to attract visitors on the same basis even today, owing to their economic, religious and cultural importance and an ironic ability to create division and hostility.

The Holy Land also represents the landscape in which the Roman Empire's expansion, the Jewish Diaspora, the medieval Crusades and (most recently) the modern Arab-Israeli conflict has been played out, making their own contribution to the strategic and military interest of the region.

The term "Holy Land" usually refers to a territory roughly corresponding to the modern State of Israel, the Palestinian territories, western Jordan, and parts of southern Lebanon and of southwestern Syria. Jews, Christians, and Muslims all regard it as holy.
